Included in your trip, you get a guided snorkel tour! This is really great, as the expert guides know all the best spots as well as where all the best marine life can be found. You’ll be provided with the latest masks, snorkels and fins from high-quality brands. Should you become tired, the guides town life rings behind them in case you need a rest.
Certified scuba diving and introductory scuba diving is available, but to avoid disappointment on the Great Barrier Reef Half Day Tour you have to prebook these.
Scuba diving is quite a contrast from snorkelling. You have the opportunity to observe everything in more detail, spending 30 minutes underwater.
Get ready for close encounters, as the fish can react to you more curiously. They can feel more comfortable, as you’ll be below them, not above.
Once you are on board and we are ready to depart your captain will introduce you to the crew and they will go through the day with you. A quick safety demonstration and then hold on, it’s off to the Reef on this mighty jet boat.
Upon arriving at Hastings Reef, the crew will give you a quick briefing and then it is into the water! We highly recommend the snorkel tour as part of your day, and this is approximately 45 long. Otherwise enjoy snorkelling the Reef with your buddy.
There is a glass-bottom boat tour is available where you can learn more about the Great Barrier Reef while relaxing and then head back into the water!
Spend about 2 ½ hours at the Reef and then its time for afternoon tea and your return trip to Cairns.
What a fun afternoon! And to finish the day, your shoes will be laid out on the pier ready for you while you say farewell to the crew!
