Red Peak Station has a beautiful walk along a boardwalk through the rainforest. With this in mind, allow roughly 20 minutes to complete. You can find lush ferns, palms, butterflies, birds and giant rainforest trees.Â

A one-way Skyrail experience will take approximately 90 minutes to complete. If you are joining the return service please allow at least 2 1/2 hours at a minimum to enjoy some time in Kuranda.
Arrive 15 minutes before departure at either Smithfield or Kuranda terminals
Gondolas depart constantly throughout the day. Bookings are made in 15-minute intervals:
Smithfield to Kuranda Departure times: every 15 minutes between 8:30 am and 1:00 pm
Kuranda to Smithfield Departure times: every 15 minutes between 10:00 am and 3:15 pm

Red Peak Station is 545 metres above sea level. Our 175-metre boardwalk provides the opportunity to explore the rainforest from ground level.
When approaching the first station – Red Peak, your gondola will descend through the canopy layers and take you deep into the forest.

For an amazing experience, upgrade to our unique glass floor gondola. These gondolas allow our guests an uninterrupted view of the treetops and the forest floor below. Diamond view gondolas carry a maximum of 5 passengers. Departures from the stations are roughly every 7 minutes.

Gondolas depart constantly throughout the day. Bookings are made in 15-minute intervals.
The first departure from Smithfield is at 8:45 am. The last one-way experience departs Kuranda at 2:30 pm.
Please let us know your desired departure and return times. Keep in mind, including the 2 stops along the way, a one-way journey will take approx 1.5 hours.
During busy periods, sharing of gondolas with other guests may be required.
A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required to re-schedule or alter all or part of a reservation.
Any date change will incur a $20 administration fee.
We are required to notify the operator of any cancellations within the specified cancellation period. It is your responsibility to make sure you submit your cancellation request with adequate time, and during our standard business hours (9 am-5 pm), to allow us to contact the tour provider. All cancellation requests must be in writing and sent via email to: [email protected]. Any emails received outside of these hours will be considered received the following day.
Cancellation fees are as follows:
20% cancellation fee 24 hours or more before departure
100% cancellation fee within 24 hours before departure and for "No Show"
There will be no refund of any part of your tour costs should you fail to arrive at a scheduled tour departure time. Tour departures may not be delayed due to passenger circumstances - including events beyond your control, medical problems, airline delays, weather, etc.
All passengers are strongly advised to purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation insurance, evacuation, and medical cover.

Travel Time: Standard Gondola: A one-way Skyrail experience (standard gondola) takes approximately 90 minutes (including stops at Red Peak and Barron Falls rainforest mid-stations). Diamond View Gondola: A one-way Skyrail experience (Diamond View gondola) takes approximately 120 minutes (including stops at the two rainforest mid-stations).
Gondola Capacity: Standard gondolas carry up to a maximum of 6 guests and Diamond View carry a maximum of 5 guests. Both options include children and infants. Non-shared use of gondola cabins is subject to operational conditions and availability and during peak periods, sharing of gondolas with other guests may be required.
Child Policy: Standard and Diamond View Gondola: Children are aged 4-14 years inclusive. All children must be accompanied by an adult when travelling on Skyrail. (i.e. standard gondola cabins: 1 adult for every 5 children and 1 adult for every 4 children in Diamond View).
